For the past couple of weeks I’ve been dealing with some hard times. I had surgery on my jaw which required me eating like 50 pills per day to subdue pain, swelling, infection and the likes. Today I was at my routine check up at the hospital and they actually cleared me for starting to exercise and play basketball again.
This means that I’ll be going back to the normal of at least two hours of physical activity per day. Naturally this will take some time away from poker but on the 7th of june I have some months of from work and that’s when I think I’ll have the time and positive energy to grow as a poker player.
It’s not been easy to get any hand reviews done by my coaches, they both have a lot of things on their slate. I did catch my one coach and we talked about some mental aspects about being a poker player. He gave me these five steps to do whenever I feel emotional after a game:
1- Define the problem
2- Why does it make sense for me to be angry at that? (the issue in number 1)
3- What is flawed about that logic/rationale?
4- What is correct?
5- Why is the correction correct?
Aside from the brief mental coaching I got in some games and ended up at:
Bankroll status: 57.32$ (+6.94$)
A little more than 4 buy in profit since last update, don’t think I can complain about that. Hopefully it’ll all add up once I get a little more time on my hands.
